Five Things I Learned:
1. Shadows are tricky, I never put much thought into them before. I figured they’d just be a longer, stranger looking version of the still life, which is true, but I didn’t realize they’d have a life of their own. Not too much to resemble that here, but when finding a good lighting, it was evident.
2. Finding a good lighting was not easy. I’m a beginner, and so my drawing abilities get sort of iffy once we start altering the perspective and angles, and getting the right light to make it work took time.
3. I learned that I’m not always going to get the perspective that I want to draw with, and the lighting proved true. I never actually got the lighting I wanted and so I had to go with the second easiest option for me, which is my final piece.
4. I’m learning how to transition between light and dark better now. It’s obviously not perfect yet but I’m getting there.
5. Reflections act very different than I thought when I began drawing. I definitely didn’t do too good with that in this project but I know what to do different on the next one.
