100% Complete.
1. I’m beginning to really understand shading now. Even though it very, very far from perfect, it takes me half he time to produce the same results. Hopefully it’s even better next week.
2. Getting better at figuring out how shadows are supposed to move with the environment. It’s very small, but the shadow of the pig’s ear on the stuffed dog look weirdly smaller than the rest of the shadow but that’s how it would look normally and it’s becoming easier at that.
3. I’m not just drawing shadows as darker copies of the original item anymore, they’re becoming more realistic as I learn more about what light touches and what it doesn’t. An example is the wire/cord from the headphones on the bottom. The cord loops but the shadow looks like that funny mustache looking shape.
4. I learned that reflections are sort of hard. They’re easy easier than most details but it still was harder than I assumed and I doubt that looks too good but I’m figuring it out.
5. I learned that some textures are more difficult than others and I don’t feel I did well here representing that enough. Light reflects on each slightly different and I’ll focus on that in the next project.
